We divorced in 1996 and I moved back to Canada. I have a Social Security card and my alien registration documents - but left 6 month prior to getting my permanent residence status.

Is there any way to tell what my status is now? Is my social still active If I want to come back?

My new partner has American citizenship...so do I start all over again with Immigration or is there an easier way?

Do you really think there\'s a chance of picking up where you left off? If so, see a good lawyer. But, IMHO, I think you\'d be wasting your money.

Also IMHO, you\'re going to get a real grilling from INS. Marrying one US citizen raises their eyebrows, marrying two sure looks like you desperately want to live in the States and they are going to be walking all over you, picking holes in whether or not your marriage is genuine or immigration fraud.
