I am a Canadian and working in USA...How can I bring my son into the USA?

I have a boyfriend who is a Canadian working under an H-1B, and in process of getting green card. He is wanting to bring his 15 YO son who is Canadian into the USA to stay in his US residence with us. Will he be able to so this, and how would he go about this? I am a US citizen, and is there anything I can help with this?

He can bring his son the US with H4 status, and then if the priority date for his green card petition is current he can file a derivative I-485 to get a green card for his son.

Not necessary. With an H1B job, the Canadian boyfriend is almost certainly making over 125% of the poverty line, and will not need a co-sponsor.
