Folks:
My I-94 stamp expried along with the H1b earlier this month. We have AP and EAD and before expiration of H1b went on EAD.

My question is that we are travelling now and will use AP for travel.

Will the expired i-94 (which was same as the H1b expiration) cause any problems for our travel when we use AP for returning back to the US.

Thank you for your help.

Regarding Travel

Yeah I too had a similar question. Although I don't think the expired I94 should cause a problem.
Also, when coming will we get a new I-94 and what will the expiry dat of the new I-94?

no problem. just have copy of i94 before you give it while you go out and have all necessary documents when you enter again. you lawyer can help you on this

u shouldn't have any problems ...

I had a similar case earlier this year. My I-94 was way past its due date.

I used my AP to re-enter the country. Sometimes the immigration officer at the airport might not process your immigration if you are entering ther country on AP. They will send u to a secondary immigration officer at the airport itself (this is usually the case at JFK) and he has access to your records. He will stamp your AP document and your I-94 with a validity of 1 year.

AP Stamp will be put on the passport

I had the same situation last year. Make sure you have a color copy of your I-94 ( in case you had used this I-94 ) for filing I-485.
Color copy is needed as the stamp is usually red and making a B&W copy is not legible. I got an RFE for 485 asking for a more legible copy for I-94 plus employment related stuff.
When returning you will get a stamp in your passport which should say Parolled Until a period of one year.
