I-94

When the first time I entered US in 2000, I had H4 visa which was valid for 3 months and my husband's H1B I797 Approval Notice which was going to be expired in 2002. At airport, the immigration officer looked at my husband's I797 and wrote 2002 as my I-94 expiration date.
Few months ago, I did not extend my H4 status with my husband. Therefore, my current H4 I-797 approval notice will be expired soon in 2004 while my husband new H1B approval notice will be expired in 2007.
Now we are going to Canada for a short period. When we come back, at Land port, can I request the immigration officers to extend my I-94 to 2007 when they issue me a new I-94 form?
Any one has same exprience? Thanks

When you are in US , then you have to apply for H4 when the H1 is being applied...for the primary person.... I will say that you should apply for the H4 extention...
