I-94 problem

My wife, after visiting India entered US. She used her H4 visa which will expire on July of this year. As expected, the date stamped on her I-94 is also valid till July, 2003. No we have filed for AOS and have our Advanced Parole document. She did not use her AP. Now, my question is what is the significance of the date on her I-94. What will happen after July, while our I485 is pending. Appreciate any input.
 
Once you and your wife filed for AOS, you remain in status regarless of I-94 dates. Your wife's status will remain valid even after her H4 expires. However she will have to use AP to travel after July 2003.

I presume that you are currently in H1 status and have not used EAD.
