I-94 is missing?

So after we had our initial interview and I am noticing that my wife’s I-94 form is missing. I am not sure if the lady we interviewed with took the card or not. I only noticed it missing because I was checking all of the forms we have and it is just one.

So anyone know if they are supposed to take it? I saw someone mention in the forums here that they did take theirs. And if they didn’t take it, is there a way to get a new one?

And I know about 2 months ago my wife and I went to the Social Security office just to update her name on her Social Security card, because she had one before we met. But the lady said because her status is changing from a student, which because we got married it basically cancelled her status, she could not change anything on her Social Security card because it’s not valid anymore. But once she has her work permit to come back and they will “reactivate it” and change her name on the card. She also mentioned something that they would need the I-94 form. So is this actually needed to for the Social Security office? My wife never was allowed to work before, she just had a SSN for banking reasons but not allowed to work. Or do we just need her work permit card to show them?

Or how can we get a copy of the I-94? Or how can we find out if the interviewer took it?

Thanks!

Right, but my concern is not having this original document. It could pose a problem in the future. So that's why I am wondering if they normally take them. Maybe they do because when you are approved a GC you don't need it then? I don't know.

Actually doing some research it looks like it is possible to request a replacement I-94 through USCIS. But since it looks like her GC is approved it doesn't matter at this point.
