I-94 extension papers held by employer

Hi,

I'm on L1 and applied for I-94 extension and got it approved. My employer blocked my I-94 extension papers as he is having a doubt that I may try for H1 processing. But I got a soft coy of the extension papers.

Now, my project is coming to an end and I have to leave US without having original I-94 extension papres.

Could anyone please suggest what will be the best approch? Do I need to call INS before leaving?

Your Employer cannot hold the 194. Ask him to provide you the I94 as you have to surrender it when you depart the US
