hi,

I am kind of in a mess. My I-94 is expiring on 12/17/2004 and so is my L1 visa.
But my 797 approval notice is valid till 09/15/2005. My lawyer suggested that I shld go out of the country and come back before the visa expires ie 17th dec, 2004. this way I will get a new I-94 with expiry of 09/15/2005. My concern is ,can it be possible that I am denied entry to US since my visa expiry is so close and can it be possible that I again get a I-94 till 12/17/2004 in which case I have acheived nothing.

Thanks,

You should be fine since it is still valid for almost 10 months.
Normally there is a limit to the amount of time you get in your I-94. In your case that might have been one year. So nothing to worry about - just have a short vacation and return to the US. At the POE you probaly get a new I-94 with expiry date of 9/15.

I made the trip, back at the immigration, to my dismay the immigration office stamped my new I-94 with the same date, dec-17 that is.

i told her to consider my 797, but i guess arguing with them is futile.

Is there a way out for me?

Will appreaciate a quick reply since I am running out of time
