I-94 expired

Hello,

My WAC no. is WAC-02-098-XXXXX, I-485 pending. I-94 has expired on July 17, 2003. Please let me know if any action is to be taken regarding expired I-94.

No, you remain in legal adjustee status. But you are not authorized to work without EAD and will need AP to return from any travel abroad.

Just a splitting-hairs note to nkm-oct23's response:

If you wish to maintain your I-485 application, you need the AP before you exit the US, as per law.

Many cases have been reported where AP has been obtained post-exit, couriered to beneficiary, and successfully uesd to reenter... but wouldn't recommend it.
