Can anyone explain this? Just came back from abroad. My 6th year H1 expires May 10, 2005. At the POE, the officer put May 20, 2005 date on my I-94. He did the same thing on my wife's I-94 who is on H4. Has anyone seen this before?
I suspect there is more than just an oversight. When my 3rd year H1 was expiring and I came back from abroad. The POE officer had again put May 20, 2002 on my I-94.
Now does this mean I am really on H1 status till May 20, 2005?
Even though it is only 10 more days, it is of significance to me. I am eligible to apply for 7th year extension only by a slender margin of 4 days. 10 additional days on H1 means I now have a 14 day window to file the 7th year extension.
Any ideas?
