I entered US on my H1. My H1 is valid until April 2003 but the INS officer at JFK stamped my I-94 as valid till Feb 24, 2002 and I need to get this corrected so that I don't have to file for an extension of H1 since I will be filing before that for my I-140 and I-485.

How do I get this corrected on my I-94? CanI go to Washington Dulles airport or do I have to go to INS office with the form to get I-94 corrected - and will it be immediate at the INS office?

Any info is greatly appreciated !

Not enough information to answer. The first thing to do is to determine why the border official issued an I-94 for a shorter duration. If it is a mistake then you should be able to get it corrected at either the point of entry or the district office with jurisdiction over the point of entry, but if the officer had a reason . . . well, you better find out why this was done.
