I-94 vs. A-number

Hi guys.

I have a question and things get a bit complicated. Let me start with the facts:
  • I entered the US in 1990 with a visitors visa and stayed in the US
  • I got married in 2004 to a US Citizen and got my temporary residency card
  • I got divorced in 2005 and lost my temporary residency card (lost contact with her, couldn't apply for status adjustment)
  • I got married 8 days ago to a US Citizen and I'm applying for change of status again

Here are my questions:

When i went to the interview in 2004, i got a new card that looks like a I-94 but nowhere does it say says "I-94" and now I find myself filing all these documents again (I-765, I-130, I-485, G-325A etc...) and they ask for both, my A number and I-94 number.

Now, if i remember correctly, the INS officer either kept my I-94 or destroyed my I-94 when she gave me the new "I-94 looking card." This was issued as a temporary permit to leave the country in case i needed to leave the US before i got my temp. green card.

-Does the A number replace the I-94?
-Am i a special case since they already have most of my information on file or i need to start from scratch?

Thanks in advance, any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Had the wrong name for the I-94
