Hi all
I have a problem. Got PP stamped on July 5th at buffalo & not received the plastic card yet. Yesterday i talked to IIO , He said that they have not received I-89 form from buffalo to make the card & it may take couple of more months . Is it a unusual case? Has anyone had such a situation before. What can be done from our side . Please any suggestions or experience
Thanks in advance

Hi

One suggestion for you. Just keep patience for another month. Let complete 3 months from your stamping date. Check AVM or call IIO. If you have no change in your status by that time, try to contact a congressman in your area. They will make sure that you recieve your cards within a specific time period.

One of my colleague has gone through the same procedure. He got his passport stamped in October 2001. Already 10 months. No card till today and no update in AVM. He contacted his HR, explained the situation and requested to make him meet the congressman around here recently. So company did it. In 2 weeks he got a call from congressman secretary that, INS hasn't recieved I-89 form after stamping and for which there is no need to worry and congressman will 100% help him to get his card within a month. Only thing to make is to send I-89 form to INS which will be done by the congressman himself.

So its good to go thru senator or congressman near your place.

During stamping, INS tells people that cards will be recieved by so many weeks or months. For you, if INS given time is over, then you can go for second stamping without completing one year after your first stamping and can tell the reason why you are there and get the second stamping. This makes your local INS to send the I-89 form to service center for ordering the cards.

Good luck and do it as per your convenience.
