I finally got around to mailing my I-865 (Sponsor Change of Address) to the Vermont Service Center the week before Christmas. Before I sent it I asked an customer service representative on the 800 number if I should be getting a notice that the file has been updated, and I got the response that since there is no fee to file the form then I won't receive a receipt notice. However, the representative sounded very uncertain if what they said was true or not. I wanted proof in case it came back to haunt me, even though I had delivery tacking via the USPS. So, today in the mail I receive a Receipt Notice from the Vermont Service Center that my address has been updated.
