My husband has only lived with my aunt and I for about a month and a half. My husband petitioned for me(he is US citizen) so he is the sponsor. Since he has been living with my aunt and I for less than 6 months I made my aunt sign an I 864 form instead of the I 864a because the I 864a form states that the person must be a houshold memeber and living with the sponsor for at least 6 months.Just to add my husband does not work. Do you think I did the right thing? Thankyou.

You are fine as long as your aunt is also either a USC or a permanent resident. One of the requirements of being able to fill out the I-864 form is that the person who files it is either of that not a non-resident.
