My dear future husband has started his own business last year, but the business hasn't gone too well and it requires a large amount of investment. So when he filed 2006 tax return, he made his adjusted gross income less than the 125% of the poverty line. So we have two options here:

1) Using his assests (his house $150,000+)
2) My assets (my car, about $15,000, paid off)
3) My work income. But it says "it must continue from the same source after he or she becomes a lawful permant resident". I will be laid off in Sept. So can I still use my income if file my paperwork in June?

Thanks....

Because he has a big ego...He thinks we need to independent and we are supposed to be able to support ourselves...Plus his relatives are in another State.

I do not think it matters if they are in another state. For as long as they are in this country and are US Citizens or Green Card holders...

Tell him to eat his ego. This is the easiest way to go.
