As the instruction on I 864 says, you have to send the tax returns with I 864.

I just became a USC and now are filing the forms for my wife to get a GC. My question regarding I-864 is that do I need to submit 12 months of bank statments even though I'm well above the federal poverty line as stated in the USCIS guidelines. I read in the instructions that if my income is equal to or higher than the minimum income requirement for your household size, you do not need to provide information on yours assets (which bank statements are). Looking for info from experience. TIA

If your income meets the 125% requirement, there is no need to show assets/bank statemets. Just submit a copy of your federal tax returns for previous 3 years and proof of employment.
