My wife is a US citizen and I'm trying to apply for my GC through her. I'm currently holding H-1B visa. My wife doesn't work right now so I will have to use my income to meet the poverty level. However, the form I-864 says I also have to show that my income will come from the same source after immigration. How do I show this ? Thanks for anybody's help.

Get a letter from your employer stating you are a full time employee in good standing, your salary is $X, you have been working there since XX/XX/XXX your position is X and a brief description of what you do.

Obviously there is no way to guarantee that you won't quit or be fired. But this is showing that your employment situation looks solid.

Employment Verification Letter

You're right, I didn't think of that. Thanks !

In addition to pay stubs, ensure that you get an employment verification letter before your interview. Most organizations, especially their HR dept will generate a standard letter attesting to you being employed in that organization on their company seal or letterhead.

You should be in good shape...
