My daughter, a US Citizen filed I-130 for her husband sometime last December and was approved about 2 months back(consular process). We just paid AOS fee of $88 online and working on I-864 forms. Since, my daughter is a student, she doesn't have any income and I will be co-signing the form. Even though, she has no income, is she required to sign I-864? Since, I am signing, do I need to I-864 or I-864A?

Please help us!

Thanks,
Hanimi

Whoever files the I-130 must also file and sign an I-864, even if the pledged income is from somebody else. She'll have to write zeroes on the I-864 where it asks for her income. You will not sign her I-864.

If your daughter lives with you, you would qualify as a "household member" and would file I-864A. Otherwise if you're not a "household member", you would file an additional I-864 to report your own income.
