I-864 Fee

I filed my I-864 along with my I-485 application for marriage-based GC.
I made a check $70 payable to dept. of state because it says that USCIS does not charge a fee but the Dept of state does.
The check is returned to me. Should I do anything about it?

These are the fees you should pay:
Form I-130, “Petition for Alien Relative” - $355

Form I-485, “Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status” - $1,010 ($930 plus a biometrics fee of $80). No additional fee is required to also file an application for employment authorization on Form I-765 and/or advance parole on Form I-131.

If you paid both of the above , no need to pay more.

The $70 fee is only applied if the beneficiary is applying through a US Consulate. The $70 would be sent to the NVC when requested. However, you make it sound like this is going to be an adjustment of status case here in the US, so just file and pay the fees the last poster stated.
