I've read the I-864 instructions and have some questions...

I've got W-2's from the previous 3 years. (I'm the intending immigrant and live together with my USC wife so income is household income). The I-864 days I need to submit my most recent tax return... I have to mail them the whole thing? I'm on H1B so presumably I won't need to ask my employer for a letter saying that I'mm be employed for the next 6 months?

If you are using the income of persons in your household or dependents to qualify,
___
A separate Form I-864A for each person whose income you will use. However, an intending immigrantwhose income is being used needs to complete Form I-864A only if his or her spouse and/or children areimmigrating with him or her.
___
Proof of their residency in your household and relationship to you if they are not the intending immigrantsor are not listed as dependents on your Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year.
___
Proof that the intending immigrant's current employment will continue from the same source if his or her income is being used.
___
A copy of their individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s and 1099s, for the most recent taxyear, or evidence that they were not required to file. You may submit this information for the most recent three years if you believe it will help you qualify.

The lease is in my name at the moment and my landlord is being an ass about adding my wife to it. Says he wants me to renew for another YEAR... pfft. Don't want to be doing that...

Hey bro, I dont think they can do that. Call the housing authority and ask. When my wife added me to her lease, they required for me to pay an addition deposit, but that was it.

good luck

Yes, send them the a copy of the whole return, 1040, W-2(s), and any 1099(s). You don't need to send them the employment letter, but its require that you have it for your interview, regardless of your H-1B, so you might as well ask your employer for it now.
