Hi Raju,
 Thanks.Unfortunately my lawyer never gives me any specific dates. All I know is that he filed it some time in late Dec 2002 or early Jan 2002. INS sent receipt on Jan 10 and I believe approval date was around March 1 2002. Hope this helps.
 
220-250 days ?

Does that mean the 220-250 days processing time that is stated on the Notice with RD is not neccessarily true. In my case one month has passed since I got my RD from NSC, should I try to contact Delhi consulate for CP with the i-824 reciept or wait for i-824 approval?

I am also in the same boat,I applied I-824 on Dec19th,2001 and got approval on Jan12th 2002.Still my case is not available in NVC.I called so many times to NVC and every time they r saying,They didn\'t received it from VSC.

Could u please tell me about u\'r case,Did u got case number from NVC OR still waiting,did u got any message from NVC.Could you Please answer to my Isuue.

   My best advice apply AC-140 . If you are from chennai consulate then even that option is not available.

  Even my case is similar to you.
    I filed I-824 in May\'2001 and got approved in August 29,2001.
After 90 days, NVC has given a letter saying that they have not received it.In fact, they have not received even to this day. Based on that letter, my attorney has filed duplicate I-140 on Nov.28th 2001. I filed AC-140 to chennai in Dec\'2001 but Chennai rejected that.

Till this day, the approval of duplicate I-140 has not arrived and the case has not reached NVC....Now, after contacting INS multiple times, NVC umpteen times and also other attorneys, I am planning to file I-485. At least AC 21 benefits will come.

Thanks for u\'r reply,But I am under Chennai consulate,so,they didn\'t accept I-140,But the same time one of my friend got his approval for Of I-824 from VSC on Feb13th,The same day Mumbai consulate mailed pocket 3 to his Employer,He didn\'t even got his approval recipt also.When he called to NVC,they said,they didn\'t find his case number.I am not under standing what\'s going on with NVC AND VSC.I don\'t know what to do in my case.

You need to wait until I-824 is approved. New Delhi would not know about the status of your I-824 until is gets approved and forwarded by INS to the consulate.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. My case is AC140 in mumbai consulate so I wasn\'t going thru NVC. However, I think that it takes about 4-5 weeks after Approval for case to reach NVC. You should ask your lawyer to look into it. Your case seems to be taking too long.

Did you ask for CP when you are applying for I-140 or afterwards?

Everybody,
My case is that I have asked for CP when applying for I-140 but they approved it for AOS.Now I am planning to apply for I-824 get the receipt notice( not the approval ) and send it to the NVC so that they can send me the packet-3 wiht my AC-140 petition.My consulate is Chennai, do you think they will reject the case?

Thanks Leila, I am seriously considering applying for AC-140 since I already have the I-824 receipt. My consulate is Delhi, I believe they accept AC-140 cases. I really don\'t want to wait for no reason, specially with such nighmares I am hearing about the response times that people are experiencing.
 
Receipt of I-824

It took me about a month to get a receipt. The approval time according to their automated system is taking about 6 months. However on the receipt it says that it can take upto 8 months. Then after that God knows how much longer for the remaining process.
