I-824 Receipt Timeframe and Docs for AC-140

Friends,

Here is my case

I-140 approved (CSC) Indicated AOS on I-140.

Need to consider option for AC-I140.

As per my understanding, we will have to file I-824 and along with the I-824 receipt send the following documents.

1. Copy of I-140 approval
2. Evidence of residency in the home consulate.
3. Cover letter.
4. DS230 Part 1.
5. OF - 169
6. PCC
7. Packet 3
8. Birth Certificates/Marriage Certificate
9. Employment Letter.
10. I-134 Affidavit of support for spouse.
11. Tax returns.
12.

Please correct me if the above information is incorrect.

Can someone please tell me what is the timeline to get the I-824 receipt.

I do not know about CSC but in Texas it took about 6 months. I filed I-824 in Nov.2001 and it got approved in May-2002.

If you are applying to any consulate other than Chennai i believe you do not have to wait for approval of I-824 you can send AC-140. You may want to verify this.
