I-824 question

Folks,
My attorney says I can add my spouse name to my GC process after my I-485 is approved.
How does that work. Is it not required to have the spouse name in my 485 application.
If it is not required anybody can add the spouse name after 485 is approved?.

Your attor. is probably right.

What he probably meant was Green card procees can be initiated for both husband and wife at different times.
Even after the primary applicant gets approved the spouse can start applying. But I feel they have to be in the same Queue.
I am not sure though.
