I-797C renewal application form enough for employment?

My green card is expired and I was just offered a position with another company. I just received the I-797c notice of action for card renewal. Will I have issues with the new company? Is the I-797c enough for work eligibility?
 
No, you are fine. You card expired, but not your status as a Permanent Resident (PR). Once you get the finger printing appointment to renew the card, they will affix a sticker with one year validity on the back of your expired green card. This will make it easier for you to prove your status as a PR, and allow you to travel abroad if needed.
