Case Info:

H1B married to USC - filed for I 130 and 485
Finished fingerprints for 485
Received I -797C - Request for Applicant for Initial Interview

Question:

- the notice doesnt list I 130 (even the fingerprints didnt list it). Does it mean that there will be a separate interview / fingerprints for that or does 485 include both?

- the notice says "Initial Interview" - are there more than one?

- what are the next steps following this interview?

Thanks in advance. This forum has been amazing to help me understand and navigate the process :)

No, you don't get fingerprinted for I-130. Don't worry about it, your I-130 will most likely be adjudicate at the same time as your I-485. Actually my I-130 is still listed as 'pending' on the USCIS website, despite the fact I have my 10 year GC.

It always says "Intial Interview". You most likely will only have one, but some people have to have more.

The next step following the interview is mostly to wait. Really though it depends on how the interview goes.

Thanks for your reply. During the interview are you informed on what will happen ? ur signature indicates approved on 10/11 but you got your GC on 12/06. Assume you were informed as such during your interview. So between 10/11 and 12/06 did you have anything which indicated that you were approved? like a stamp on the passport or a letter?

I was approved at interview, the interviewer told me so, she also told it would take 2 weeks to get my greencard, and also told me I could not have a stamp (I asked for one) because the card arrives so quickly so there was no point. The card then took 2 months to arrive, and I got not explanation as to why it took 2 months rather than 2 weeks.
