I-797 sent directly to consulate???

Has anybody heard of a situation where the I-797 was mailed directly by INS to the consulate, where you will be applying for stamping.

apparently there is an option to do that and my lawyer opted for that.

any experiences please share....

Hello,

So what was your situation. Is this your first time getting the H1B visa, or is it just the extension. I applied for extension and they denied the extension part and sent the approval notice to the consulate back home. I am in 8th year. They said that I have a criminal record which makes me inadmisable to US. My lawyer is going to appeal it to buy some time.

what was your situation. Criminal record is a DWI.
