Situation - Canadian PR with H1
Two Questions
1) on a previous visit to Canada from the US, I had an expired I94 (on the passport) and a new I94 (attached to I797).
On the way back, the US immigr. officer removed the old expired one and did not give me a new I94 (saying that the one attached to the I797 was good).
However, on a more recent trip, the US immigr officer asked me to fill in a new I94 form. I told him that i had one (attached to the I 797), but he said that that was not good and that the earlier immigr officer was not doing his job.
Basically, I filled in a new I94. Now i have two - one new and one with the I797?
Is this ok? any comments ?
2) Vault, Ray etc
What do you guys put down in the I94 and customs forms when you have questions like "Country where you reside" and "Country of permanent residence" especially If returning to the US from India. It may lead to a lot of unnecessary questioning when you mention canada (though totally legal) due to the alleged fact that many terrorists have misused the Candian PR.
Also, do they actually store old I94 info on file, coz i may have mentioned Canada earlier?
