If I am renewing my EAD - I-765
can anyone please help me, what should I enter in Line 16-

"16. Go to Part 2 of the Instructions, Eligibility Categories. In the space below, place the letter and number of the category you selected from the instructions."

If I want to renew my EAD what should I enter for this question?

Thank you in advance,
Nami

I have a question about EAD too.

My work permit will expire in August and after receiving derivative asylee petition approved last week, I'm eligible to receive an EAD valid for 2 years for free. Would you suggest I waited for another month to apply for EAD or?

Also, since my other EAD hasn't expired yet, what should I apply the new one as?

you do not need to apply for EAD, I received my (2 years EAD) after 10-14 days from the approval letter .. its processed automatically after getting the final approval ..
(This is my experience, and I am not a derivative asylee, so I don't know if its different in your case or the same)

Open the I-765 instruction below

and you'll find the Eligibility Categories explained on page 2 & 3

S'007,

I believe you would receive a new Work Permit only if you've filled out the form when you submitted your application. We haven't filled one for me. I'm thinking about applying for RTD and EAD at the same time ( i.e. first week of March ) because I'm going away for my spring break. If I were to be asked to come to a Local Center for Biometrics ( which is 3 hrs away ) during the Spring break, that'd suck.

Also, I'd appreciate if someone could help with my original query. How should I apply for my new EAD card? It has three options on "I am applying for :"

1. Permission to accept employment
2. Replacement ( of lost EAD Card )
3. Renewal of my permission to accept employment ( attach previous employment authorization document ).

I haven't filled any application for the (2 years val. EAD) :)
My first EAD was going to expire in July 2008, i filed for renewal in April 2008 ..
but before it gets processed & approved, my asylum was approved .. and along with my asylum approval letter I got an "Asylum Addendum" letter titled
"Automated Issuance of Form I-766 Employment Authorization Document"
"This addendum is to notify you about the process for issuing your initial EAD that is provided to you without cost. USCIS will provide a secure two-year EAD for those individuals who had their biometrics collected at a USCIS ASC and were issued a final grant of asylum from an Asylum Office. In order to better serve asylees, USCIS is automatically generating anI-766 EAD that is valid for two years, and will be mailed within 7-10 days of issuance of your asylum approval"

GOOD LUCK :)
