My RD for I-765 is 10/20/2005 and ND is 10/25/2005. My FP is on 01/04/2006. The last online update was 01/25/2006 but it doesn't say anything on what the update is all about nor I received any email about the update, so I don't know if it's approved or denied. Should I get an infopass to get my work permit now that it's past 90 days?

Hi honeyc74,
I would strongly recommend you to make infoPass AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Only infoPass at your DO can tell you what's going on with your case. Your situation seems like either MSC/NBC made a blunder.

As a side note, if you mention your location in your post, that will help the people reading your post a lot.

Bests,
jimmy

Hi,

my situation is almost exactly the same. ND is Oct. 26, I believe. I had the last update on the website on 1/24/06, but only the date changed, nothing else. I was told it's good, since someone looked into it and should be approved soon. This is my renewal EAD, current expires 3/17/06. I won't sweat it, last time I visited LO, they told me just to come anytime after 90 days to renew it. I didn't have FP this second time.

Thanks Jimmy, I don't know what DO means, sorry... I'm new here... But I'm from Las Vegas... Another question... When I get my iEAD, is the SS# included? Or can I just go straight to the SSS ofc to apply for one?

DO = District Office. Depends on where you put down on your application, thats where your DO is. Assuming you put donw Las Vegas, NV on your application AND you are still living in Las Vegas, then your DO is Las Vegas, NV. If you have moved, then you must notify USCIS.

SS# is totally different from EAD or iEAD. I am not sure about how SSN works with your B-1 pending AOS. I got my SSN when I was a student. B-visa are for tourist/business purpose. Depends on how long you entered the country before you get married and how long after you entered the country you filed for AOS, you might/might not get your AOS approved. B-visa is a non-immigrant visa, so if you get married within 90 days of your entry to US, USCIS might not like that. But again, I'm not a lawyer, and I can only tell you what I have read and what I have heard.

Keep me posted. I will be checking this thread on and off on Monday, 2/6/06.

infoPass appt 3 hours earlier than online update email :(

just want to update you guys... We'll I came to my DO at 7:30am for my infoPass appointment at 7:50am. The officer who talked to me said that my AOS processing is on-hold bec. they haven't receive the RFE I sent. That's why they can't issue an iEAD to me. She asked me to wait for a few more days for someone from NBC to key-in my RFE and then I can set for another infoPass appointment.

I came home at 8:30, frustrated... Guess what? At 11am, i received an email saying they received my RFE for my AOS yesterday (but they just sent the email today, huh)... email below...

On February 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

So now, I set another appointment for infoPass on Feb16. I just hope that either my original EAD is on the mail before Feb16 or they haven't sent it out so I can get my iEAD that day.
