My wife went into the NYC service center yesterday to apply for temporary work authorization. The USCIS had received her I-765 application on July 7, 2004.
However, when she went up the counter they told her that her I-765 had been denied back in October.
Now, we had never received ANY notice regarding this denial, or a request for more information. Our online case status says the usual info - it is taking between 30 to 90 days to process this kind of case, etc. Nothing at all about a denial.
What can we do? Does anyone have explanation as to why the I-765 would have been denied?
My theory - we were still waiting for a replacement I-94 when we filed the application. We now have the replacement I-94 - can we re-apply or appeal the denial??
Please help!!
