I-751 What Now?

I was married when i received my green card. I later got divorced (reason for divorce was abuse). I then filed my 1-751. I was called for an interview and went. About 6 months later i received a letter saying i was denyed. The interviewing officer made it seem like i was horrible and my ex wife was an angel. He also said i was making up stories to make her look bad. (police reports exist that prove my "stories") I spoke with an attorney and i basically came out knowing nothing more then i did when i went in. I am scared of being deported. I have children a good job --- So what do i do now? What are my chances of a good out come? Can someone recommend a GREAT attorney (NJ)??? Please HELP!!!!
 
You really don't have any options, if your case was denied. May be employment based GC, but I am not sure.
May I ask you if you were the victim or if you abused your wife. If its the latter and if you were charged, then I think US immigration officer saw this as a very convincing reason to deny you.
 
I was once told by an attorney that if you have a child with the marriage the I-751 shud get approved.
I believe,if you had children with the marriage u shud fight it out....go to a lawyer.....daniel huang is one attorney....he is in CA...but I believe he also has office in NJ....u can try look for the details online...

i was the one abused, i did not abuse my wife. There were police reports, restraining orders, etc. And the child was not from the same marriage.

I was in the same situation, my ex wrote a four page letter to INS we where married for 8 years and because sept 11 they where still in the process of approval for the final, we where in a divorce procedure for 3 years, she did harm and I got a detention letter and denial from dallas, work got me a lwayer but I got rid of him quick they make things to complicated and arrise suspicion at immigration, and officer in LA helped me, you have to ask them to re open your case, and let you file a I751 based on a waiver, with that you supply an avidate of a legitimite marriage and a personal letter explaining your situation and all the proof you can get proofing your ex is wrong, if you have childeren they will re issue the greencard based on that a imminent relative of you is american and your status changes to c6 ...
