I have my CR green card married close to 3 years now but marriage situation is really bad and seekign divorce.
My question is if once the divorce decree is received what hapepns to my job I have been workign with the same company for close to 6 years now I was on h1b before . I have 6 more months to apply for regular 751 but me and my wife are not even on talking terms.
I hate it because the green card for me has been of no use but might be a reason to lose a job I love.IS it true that the green card expires the day of divorce and I have to wait to till I get the I 751 waiver receipt to start working again ?
Please anyone help ..

Since you have crossed the Two Years of Marriage mark , apply to have the conditions removed from the Greencard. Greencard has nothing to do with Divorce unless you are applying for new one based on marriage.

Green card expires on the date on it not on your divorce date. You can apply I 751 as soon as divorce decree in your hand.

No you can work on basis of your current green card and after it expires on your extension letter.

By the way, I guess employers ask only SSN card and DL.
