I 751 question

I am US citizen and got a temporary GC for my wife, we were few months short of our two years anniversary at the time of GC approval for her. Now the date is coming up to apply for her removal of condition. I had to move out of US for my job and and we have been outside US for few months. During this time she has maintained her status and visited US in less than six months. We have a son together and do have joint accounts in US and we are living together abroad too, and I am working for US company. What options do I have? Can i apply for her removal of condition from overseas? If i apply from US, do I need to write the temporary as overseas address? or do I need to send a letter of explaination with the petition? We consulted a lawyer in Dallas and she told us that she could apply from overseas but she has to do biometrics here inUS, but she wasnt much helpful.

If she has to apply from US, then she has to come here and stay here until her GC is approved, that might be around 4-6 months? I 751 form doesnt ask about dates stayed abroad/ or how long we stayed at each location. Also, one more thing--- Do we need two letters of affidavits and does anyone has a format for these?

Thanks

1. It will take more than 4-6 months. I filed in early June, and there is still in "initial review"status. it is very likely to take 7-8 months.

2. Affidavit letter is simple. It only takes you 5 minutes to throw around 100 words there for each letter. No need for a format. Ask your common friends to sign on it.

3. She may need to stay at least 180 days a year in the US before she gets her US citizenship. Did you know that before you took this oversea job? Now you have to find a good lawyer.

Thanks for your response may2009

Isnt it that in order to be eligible for citizenship, she has to be present in US for 18 months in three years, with no break in continuous residency -- no stays outside US over six months. I didnt know that it has to be 180 days per year. She has completed her 11 months and has got seven months left for her 18 months period, but does she has to be present in US for 180 days/year for three year period?

With 751 cases taking too long, i saw somewhere on this forum that she gets an extension for a year when she applies for I 751; can she travel based on that extension? The other question I have is, if we apply for 751 with outside US address, is this going to be an issue?
