I would appreciate if anyone could help on the following two questions for my friend.
1. My friend and his wife have filed the joint petition to remove the condition on his green card for almost one year, and they are now waiting for the interview. however, they may get to divorce before the interview. so he was wondering whether the petition is still valid even if they officially divorce before the interview? if not, is there any alternatives for him to proceed?
2. In addition, if they don't divorce but his spouse is not willing to support the petition any more (she signed the joint petition before), and reject to go to interview when the time is scheduled. Could you please let us know how this situation can be handled.
