HELP - I-751 Pending after interview ??????????

If there is anyone with some information out there that can help me I'd really like to hear back as I am at my wits end.

I filed my I-751 in July 2002 and patiently waited for my interview date. I made several follow up's as to where my application was throughout this period and finally I received my notice for my interview and it was conducted in June 2004 in Miami.

I went to my interview with my lawyer where the officer asked several questions and generally had such a foul attitude with me and my lawyer, My file is the size of three stacked Yellow pages books (I'm serious). Each time he asked for a document we would politely say that it had been submitted and must have been in my file that I doubt very much if he had looked through at all. Naturally I had copies for everything which my lawyer offered him then when he realized he had them all he took my conditional green card and a pair of scissors and proceeded to cut it up. Once this was done he asked for my passport and wrote "I-751 pending" and stamped the passport with my I-551 valid for a year.

No reason was given as to why it was pending or if he needed more information ....nothing! It has now been 7 months without any response from the office through my lawyer and my own efforts. I have been to the Miami office through appointment. Made inquiries ...and I am at my wits end now I just don't know what else I can do.

I was made redundant in January 2005 and have gotten a consulting job in the UK which I start in March 2005.

I shall be back in June 2005 to have my I-551 renewed (passport stamped) and I am also eligible to apply for naturalization in the same month but I'm not sure what leaving to work elsewhere will affect.

Anyone out there with info ....please help.
Very frustrated....
