I sent in a money order instead of a check, which after reading the forums on this thread, I now regret.
Good luck to all!

I-751 (California) Biometrics appointment experience.

Hi,

I filed the I-751 in June, and a few weeks later got my biometrics appointment notice for 7/9/08, which was yesterday.

I took all the necessary precautions, as suggested in the notice, i.e. left my cellphone in the car and prepared to present a photo ID. It said in the letter that only naturalization applicants are required to present their green card, so I just came with my CA driver's license.

At the reception desk, however, they also asked to see my green card, which I did not bring. I almost panicked, thinking that I would need to be rescheduled. The guy then explained that the reason is that they need to verify that the A# on the biometrics appointment letter matches the A# on my greencard. Sheesh. At least, he told me I can go ahead and get printed but that when I get home I need to verify the same.

So kids, let this be a lesson to you all. Even though the letter seems to suggest that "only naturalization applicants are required to present their green card", you should also bring your green card to the biometrics appointment as well!

P.S. The place I went to is the ASC in San Francisco.

I finally got my bio notice!!! Im scheduled to have it on 07/23/2008. Thanks babygrlsf I will definately take my GC with me!

I did my biometrics today in Boston. I was in and out in 20 mins. Taking the green card was a must. Now we just wait...

Here is my time line ..
It's going to be a long wait with VSC .

Hi ps182,

I noticed that your timeline shows that your I-485 was touched months before you submitted your I-751. Did you figure out why?

In my case, it was my I-130 that was touched.

Besides us, I saw only one other poster with this issue. The good news is that she received her approval soon after she posted her concerns.

I wonder if ours are isolated incidents or it is actually common but other people do not notice it?
