Hello there,
I was married to a USC & got my Green card back in 2001. My wife & I have filed jointly to remove the conditions within the 3 months prior to the 3rd anniversary. So we filed I-751 back in March of 03. I got the letter extending my GC for 1 year. I haven't heard anything since, I always go to my local office to get my passport stamped for 1 year. It's taking now over 4 years. i received a notice of transfer 8 months ago stating that my file was transferred to California service Cntr & I initially filed w/ Vermont because I live in Baltimore, MD. I have contacted my state senator like a month ago & replied to me that she contacted them & she's waiting for them to get back to her. I even hired a lawyer to check on it too. I've been calling the 800 number like 50 times, all what they say tha's still pending & I need to wait. They're not helpful at all. I got my divorce back in 2006. So now i'm not sure if I can go ahead & file N-400 because i got my temp. green card in 2001, it's been now 6 years so I guess I'm eligible to file for N-400. But I'm not sure if i can file Citizenship even if I'm divorced now & my I-751 still pending. I don't have lot of money & I can't afford losing $350 if they can't process it. So if anybody can advise what should i do to dela with this ongoing issue.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Have a great day!
