Hello

I filed for my GC through my wife in 2005 and then after two years in 2007 filed for I-751. I got the notice dated 05/23/07 that my paperwork was recieved at the Texas office. Then on June 28/07 I got my Biometrics completed. In Feb 08 I received a notice that my file had been transfered to Vermont since Texas was backloged.

I just noticed that my Extension GC paperwork expired on 05/23/08 and to date I have not received any further notice from INS. I have been regularly checking the website and saw today that at the Vermont center they are working on cases from Sept 07 now yet I have not received anything

I am freaked out right now. I am in the process of finding a new job and just realized this entire mess. Can someone please HELP ME AND PROVIDE ME ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE

I probably cant get hired right now, what are my option and the consequences

Thanks a million

Zack

You need to make an INFO PASS appt as soon as you possibly can and they will just put a stamp in your passport and you will be fine. But you have to go as soon as you can.

I had to do just that recently, went to the local office and got a stamp in the passport extending the status for another year.

Why would you extend your stamp. If you want you are eligible to apply for N400 and this would get your I-751 approved right away unless you are not interested in getting naturalization.

Stamp is fine and you will get that till ur I-751 is pending but if you want to get the approval quickly N400 is the way to go.

Your status does not expired...but you should have something about your current status, so you can get a stamp doing infopass to your local office.

N400 just expedite the process, but in any case...it's not in one day, the stamp can be and the person can travel. only applying for n-400 won't make anything else easier until it's approved.
