Hello
I am married to a US citizen and we had our interview in July 2007. I just received the letter requesting me to provide with the following:

- Evidence that my marriage was registered with the county/state after the wedding ceremony was performed.

We got married in TX, and had registered out marriage after the ceremony. What will be the best way to prove that? Will our wedding invitation card and marriage certificate (already submitted with I 485) sufficent for that? Please advice.

- Evidence that I am in an ongoing marital relationship
For this request, can we provide documents like lease agreement, drivers license showing the same address of residence, bank statement with both of our names on it etc.

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

that was weird...

the marriage certificate would work for point one... and for point two... what happened at your interview? you should have provided evidence already.

Where you approved? approved pending namecheck or what?

Your Texas marriage certificate should bear a signature from a county clerk and probably has information on it when it was recorded and a document number. I suppose you can contact your country clerk's office and find out if they can give you any additional proof. In some (or all?) Texas counties, marriage records are public information. I can find ours simply by entering my last name on the marriage search section of our county clerk's website, and it returns our full names; the date and time we applied for our marriage license; the date of the wedding; a document number; and a scan of the marriage certificate. Your wedding invitation would not be accetable proof that the marriage was recorded.

1. How was your marriage performed? if you said you registered it did you get a copy of it? you should included in your package the first thing...the marriage certificate...did they got that?

2. How was your interview? Did you bring joint information? like bank statements, ID's like driver's license...credit card statements, etc. leasing/rent/mortgage??
