I also just received the yellow RFI letter in the mail yesterday. I was asked to submit an I-693 and its supplemental form, along with an updated biographic info sheet.
My questions:
I understand that the I-693 supplemental has to do with my immunizations. Do I have to produce any old documents to show that I've had some of the immunizations? My problem is that some of this is reflected on my birth certificate, but it's in its native (non-English) language, which means I need to get a certified source to translate it. Has anyone had a similar problem? Or I shouldn't even be concerned about this b/c the doctor's office will be able to figure out through tests what I've had?
I heard that some of you paid up to $300 for your medical examinations. Do our medical insurance (from employment) cover any of it? In other words, should I go through the civil surgeons list and go to the one who will accept my insurance? Or is this irrelevant?
Another thing I noticed from this yellow letter is that the heading says "REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE" and that "your application has not been reviewed by an immigration officer to determine legal sufficiency or eligibility." It sure sounds like that there may be another RFI coming after I turn in all these requested documents. Am I right?
Lastly, I'm so happy to hear that so many of you are now at the same point of the process. We're getting close...hang in there. And for those of you who are still waiting, know that it won't be as long as before!
