My wife is currently here on a G-4 visa. So, per the instructions of the I-485 we filed the I-566 and the I-508 with our application packet. The I-566 is to request to transfer from A,G or NATO status to/from another status. The I-508 is a waiver of immunities.

On the bottom of I-508 there is a part for the government to fill out if the applicants job which gave them the G-4 status is now subject to income taxes or not. Will she receive a notice in the mail on when the I-508 is processed and if she is subject to taxes or not? Also, will these additional forms cause longer processing times? The AOS package is being processed within the regular processing time frames and we are scheduled for an interview next week.

I know I did get the confirmation that the job would continue to be exempt from US taxes in a prior thread. I was just wondering if anyone knew if we would actually receive something from the government. I am wondering about receiving a notice from the government because we had a update of last Friday on our I-485, but no change in the status message on the case status.

So that confirmation you received wasn't from the US government?

If not, it would be a good idea to get something official from the IRS itself, otherwise you could get surprised with a huge tax bill plus penalties some years later.
