I-551 valid for 2 years or 1 year?

I did stamping in Honolulu office two days ago but noticed that my I-551 stamp (temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence) is valid for (2) two years as opposed to (1) one year. Is everyone now getting I-551 stamped for two years now? Or is it discretionary up to the local office?

Probably it depends on district office.
I won't be surprised if some district offices start giving 6 months or even 3 months for temporary I-551 because they are providing plastic cards so quick. In past that used to take about a year.
