I-551 stamped, but got H1 extension approved, urgent need help

I just noticed my H1 extension was approved yesterday. I already had my I-551 stamped on my passport. What does H1 extension approval mean to me? Will that affect my already hold permanent residence status? Anyone had similiar experience, please share your thought.

Inform the INS regarding the status and ask them to Cancel your petitiion. It should not be a problem but no harm in taking chances. If they enter in system as H1 status then you will have to go through all the mess to clear it up. Just play safe. Mail them and let them know you want to cancel the H1 request as it was in error.
Its good to be safe than sorry
