My kids just arrived 2 weeks ago on IR2 visas. I remember when I filled-out their DS-230 #30a I marked YES to receive SSN card. My question is now that my kids are already here, will they actually assign SSN automatically and will send the cards to us? Or should we go to SSN office to apply? We need their SSN so they can have their check-up for the additional vaccines they need for the coming school year.
Also, it says on their visas "upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year". How long before we actually receive their actual I-551 card?
