Hello,

What are the advantages and disadvantages if we prepare i-485 packages ourselves?

Will INS evaluate our i-485 applicaitons differently if we use a lawyer?

Do we need to submit a noncriminal record from our home country?

My 2 cents

You can prepare the 485 packet yourself. It will just entail a lot of reading and thoroughness. This forum can and some other websites will be a good place to start.

You dont need to submit the non-criminal record from home country.

I did GC processing myself and got approved. I dont believe INS views it any differently. As long as you can put together a packet that will make their job easier, I dont believe they care.
