Hello,

First of all i just want to tell everyone that i am so happy that
people chating and shared their experence via Forums. I didnot
know that until today I think lots of people still doesnot know
about this. Any way i applied I-485 In Last March.
I Have not heard any thing but i got so much help from this forum.
so now on i will looking in to forwrd to share my experence with all of you.

This is silly question but i donot understand that what is
AP , PD , RD , ND , FP , AD , EAD , RFE stand for
can some one help me so i can tell my information and experence
to every one.

INS Alphabet Soup
AP: Advance parole, a document that allows someone with pending I-485 to return to US from a trip abroad.
PD: Priority Date, usually the date Labor Certifications/I-130 is filed. This date sets your position in the green card queue.
RD: Receipt Date, Dae INS received your application.
ND: notice date, the date a receipt notice was generated.
FP: finger printing
AD: approval date, when INS approves your petition.
EAD: employment authorization document, a document that allows you to work in the US while your I-485 is pending.
RFE: request for evidence, a letter from INS requesting more docmentation or answers to questions to support your petition.
 
Purpose of Priority Date

Can someone tell me what's the purpose of priority date? Like the response before, I have seen in several places that Priority
Date means the date when the Labor Certification was filed.

But does it have any bearing on how the 485 application would
be processed?
 
What is priority Date!!!!!!!!!

I applied my labor certification on april/18/2001.
Has been approved Then I applied I-140 also had been approved.
Last I applied On March-2002.I485.
When I received a notice letter from ins doesnot show any priority
date.
It says Received date is March/12/2002.
Notice date Is April/01/2002.
When I received a notice from ins says that it will take 300 to 330 days from the case of thisreceipt.
When i checked on line with BCIS it says your application received
on April/01/2002.Also it says it will take450 to 480 days.
Whats going on!

My question is what is my priority Date!
My RD is 03/12/02 OR 04/01/02.
My lin#02-148-00000:( :( :o
