We applied for 485 on 6th of July 2001. Got EAD in august 2001 and finger printing on 8th march 2002. But did not get the 485 approval yet. But when I called INS and spoke to them they said they are processing August.

What should I do, I tried calling INS today also, but heard the message to call in regular business hours (I called at 10 am and 12 am). Now I am not even sure what their business hours.

Can any one suggest me what to do. My lawyer says this delay isn't unusual. But its been an year since we applied for 485.

Is anyone in my situation? or I am the only one.

Try to contact congressman in your area and explain them nicely whole situation. I am sure it's going to work 100%, if not than go to the next level Senator. Don't sit around and westing your time with talking IIO's who never give the right information. Try that and my words to you that you will see your approval within 15 days. Just give them wake-up call thru congressman.

And may I ask, how easy will be for a 'Mr. Nobody' to contact a congressman or senator??? Is it something like sending a letter and hopefully they will read it??????
 
Don't think negative in your life

I guess you are right, that there are so many people who even don’t want to try and wait for the result. In my case I didn’t know anything about congressman, but dear let me tell you one thing, that situation will make you smart and perfect. You not going to loose anything and not difficult to find who’s congressman in our area. So, try it before even start thinking negative points. I hope that you will do it, because believe me I went thru the same situation, and I know that feelings when you don’t have approval notice.
