Today Morning, I called USCIS TSC for the status of my I-485 which is pending....

One lady says, Your file is under review by an officer....

Can anybody tell me what exactly does it mean?

I wanted to ask her for the details, but by then....the line got cut...and I don't think they will give me the details.....


I am really in a confused state....


Mine is EB2 India

Prioriy date June 2002

Anybody with similar experience.....please share with me....

afaik the first screen on their system can show status "under review" and
the next one could show "namecheck pending".

Never fully trust USCIS...listen to what they tell you...

But definitely call them 3-4 times and keep asking them when namecheck was initiated/when it cleared etc...If you see the same response more often..then you know...either your namecheck cleared or got stuck...

But, usually once namecheck clears - they will say that it is being sent for review to an officer and should be adjudicating soon...within 30 days
 
It happened to me couple of months back. I was told that my file was with the officer. I had also seen LUDs for two days. Later I found that my name check was still pending (it is still). The LUDs were due to pre-adjudication process.

As suggested by others in the forum, better to check with USCIS few times.

My question if phone system is not reliable - is infopass more reliable?
