I-485 (wife and I) approved !!! 4 days after RFE response received by INS!

I-485 was sent without medical reports.

So I got an RFE just for Medical Reports:

RFE sent by INS on 07/11/2002 (received by me on 07/17/2002)
RFE response sent to INS on 07/17/2002
RFE received by INS on 07/22/2002

Case approved on 07/26/2002 per AVM (4 days after receiving RFE response)

When did the AVM got updated? did you check today or on friday itself?

RFE sent to me by INS on 07/11/2002 - I checked AVM at 8:00 pm same day and heard message.

RFE response received by INS on 07/22/2002 - I checked AVM around 9:00 pm on 07/24/2002 and heard message (so do not know if AVM was updated same day)

Last Friday 07/26/2002 at around 8:00 pm - I checked AVM and heard message "... case is approved on 07/26/2002. We sent you a notice and ... blablabla".

RFE notices are bar-coded that means once INS receives your reply they scan it and immidietly they know which officer is handling it and where to route it to. it shud not take more than a day or two for the officer to approve but still in some cases it drags on for months together !
